Generating Revenues

All right friends, this is the last and most important article in this series. Its titled “Generating Revenues” through your blog/website. Before we begin, let clear out some myths. You might meet a lot of friends/colleagues etc who will boast that they are earning enormous amounts through their blog/website. You might even receive “Spam” emails claiming to make you earn $500 – $1000 per month from online advertisements. All this might encourage you to start your own blog/website. The truth is “Only quality contents and quality traffic” will help you generate revenues through your website. The other most important factor is “Patience”.

Enough of my blah blah and lets get on to the business of how to generate revenues for your blog/website.

A) The most important factor is “Quality Contents”. Now that you have genuine original contents on your blog/website, it will be easier for you to generate revenues.

B) Selecting the best network. There are many online advertising networks. You need to decide, which is the best network for you. How do we decide that?

i) Once you are approved with a network, view the campaigns they are offering.
ii) Select the campaign, which best fits the contents of your website.
iii) Since I have travel blog/website, I will like to select a network, which has a campaign on online travel information or a network, with holiday packages campaigns etc.

C) After you have decided on the campaign, view the banners available for that campaign and accordingly decide, where you will place that banner on your website.

D) Best banner sizes used Internationally are “125×125 pixels, 250×250 pixels, 300×250 pixels, 468×60 pixels, 728×90 pixels”

E) You can simultaneously apply for “Google Adsense” account as well.

F) According to me there should not be more than 4 advertisements on your blog/website which also includes your google adsense.

G) Avoid uploading irrelevant advertisements on your blog/website. For e.g if I have a travel information blog/website, I would avoid uploading “Online Casino, Dating” etc advertisements.

H) Avoid uploading huge advertisement banners, which covers most of your webpage.

I) Avoid pop-up advertisements as it simply irritates a customer, who thinks it could be a virus or a bug etc.

It is quiet simple to create a beautiful blog/website with relevant advertisement and generate revenue. If you have patience, and if your contents are good, you will start earning instantly. Please keep the concept of updating your blog/website regularly, so that customers keep on visiting it regularly.
